Third book: “Jalebi Management” was the first book in the disruptive Jalebi trilogy series published by Sage Response books. Here are excerpts from the review of the book.
Wrote The Times of India: "The book demonstrates how today‘s business organisations need to be sensitive to the nuances of global social culture to bring about quantum growth. With scientific analysis of elevated emotion, Sengupta shows how to tackle tomorrow‘s competitive business world and win markets with a 'creative strategy‘ in both economically-emerging and developed countries. In this book, he creates a vision of symbiotic relationship between industry and people, where in both coexist in harmony and thrive in each other‘s presence."

The Hindu commented: "Managing things is very much like a jalebi. This is what the title of Shombit Sengupta‘s book Jalebi Management symbolises. The book equates the complexities of business and its management to the shape of a jalebi. Shombit believes innovation and the nation‘s growth are interconnected, saying struggle pushes for innovation, and our people should think very innovatively and creatively so that our country can grow."

Deccan Herald wrote about the book‘s launch in Bangalore: "Wipro Chairman Azim Premji releasing the book said, "Using Jalebi as a metaphor, Shombit takes us through social, cultural and historical perspectives, and he has a gripping story to tell." Indian Institute of Management Professor S Raghunath said the book is for those who value unconventional, radical thinking that makes business sense in a changing society, "is replete with anecdotes, reflections and analytical tools to connect with customers and consumers in the domestic market for foreign companies and in the international market for Indian companies. Shombit convincingly proposes a methodology for heightening customer sensitivity that creates alignment between all stake holders in creating products and services of aspirationalvalue."

Outlook Business magazine said: "Where does Jalebi, the Indian answer to an American pretzel, stand vis-a-vis caviar and smoked salmon in the smorgasbord of high-end delicacies? Get the author of Jalebi Management on the subject, and he will deploy his salesman‘s instincts to hard sell you the idea that it ranks up there with the elitist. So what did we miss? As an international management strategy consultant, Shombit Sengupta uses his book to parlay the sweet quotient in Jalebi to marry off industry with humanity.
